It all started when
…my mom told me she got me a job. What?! I was 16, super involved in extracurricular activities, and having way too much fun with my friends for a job. Then she told me it was as a receptionist at a new salon… ok, I’m free! I took to the salon like a fish to water, and the rest is history…
Just kidding… wouldn’t that be a boring story? Honestly, I wasn’t sure I was going to make a career out of “hair” until many years later. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a Bachelors in Arts & Sciences - Communication. I had big plans to be an event planner… or HR manager… or something? I worked in a salon throughout college and decided, while I was looking for a “real job,” I could at least find a salon job in the mean time. Well, during the first year of “in the mean time”…
I found my passion
…Cue the violins. I started as a receptionist, transitioned into salon manager and then finally built up the courage to make the leap and become a hairstylist. It was scary - was I going to be good enough? Would people like me? What if I cut someone’s hair too short? What if I didn’t know what I was doing? Who would actually pay ME to do their hair?! Well, not many people become successful if they don’t take a leap of faith (and put in a lot of hard work and effort.) And that’s what I did - I put everything into become the best hairstylist I could be.
In 2017 I decided to take an even bigger leap of faith and open my own salon studio. I wanted to create an amazing experience tailored to each of my guests; an intimate - but fun - studio atmosphere; and a life where I can grow and flourish both as an artist and also a mother and wife.
Love my little family
Whenever I’m not in the salon, you can find me snuggling my two daughters Lowry and Eleanor or posting up somewhere in Atlanta for a concert with my husband, Stewart. We are loving our life as “cool” parents in the burbs and have recently become obsessed with card and board games. Got any favorites I should know about?
“Hair” for me has become so much more than coloring and cutting hair. It has allowed me to touch the hearts and lives of so many people; building a family-like bond with my clientele. The connections I have made are truly a blessing - I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, supportive tribe and can’t wait to have you apart of it!
